FAQs

Can hair from a brush be tested?
Yes, but this will be classified as an anonymous sample, as no proof of identity has been provided.

Do different hair colours affect the results?

No. All colours of hair can be tested, as can hair that has been chemically dyed.

Do head hair and body hair provide different results?

Head and body hair grow at different rates, and although both are accepted for analysis, body hair indicates a more distant timeframe than hair from the head.

If the donor has been exposed to drugs, can this affect the test results?

All hair samples are washed prior to testing. This greatly reduces the risk of contamination from outside sources. Our scientists also test for both the parent drug and the bi-product, called the metabolite. The metabolite is only produced on the body, so therefore cannot be an external contaminant.
