The Genetic Reconstruction Test
This test is recommended for close relatives, there are a number of genetic markers caused by hereditary patterns that can be analysed.
Analysing the DNA
DNA of the child, and comparing it to the DNA of two or three other blood relatives will provide the best results when doing this test.
If the mother of the child is providing a sample for testing, the samples from two close relatives on the father’s side will be acceptable.
If the mother of the child is not providing a sample for testing, the samples from three close relatives on the father’s side will be required.
Other DNA Results
In situations where relatives are not willing or able to be tested, other relationship tests From Total DNA Services may be an option. They will provide conclusive results, but will not be as accurate as the Genetic Reconstruction Test. A list of these tests can be found on the Relationship Tests page.
